SAFE LAND/SAFE GULF TRAINING
PEC Basic SafeLand USA was formed to monitor and continuously improve training standards for the US Land contractor community. SafeLandUSA training is design to improve Health and Safety performance in the Upstream Oil and Gas industry. Our current PEC (Petroleum Education Council) basic SAFELAND Training is an HSE orientation for all US Onshore contractors. This will ensure that workers have an awareness of basic hazards and HSE practices in the oilfield while reducing redundant operating company orientations.
BP, Chevron, Shell, and ExxonMobil have been actively involved over the last several years in the development of consistent, minimum health, safety and the environment (HSE) training requirements for the contractor community. The process is known as SafeGulf. Under SafeGulf, all contractors must fulfill the SafeGulf minimum HSE training requirements prior to working on operator premises in the Gulf of Mexico. BP, Chevron, Shell and ExxonMobil consider the new requirements a step in the right direction to ensure a level playing field and a standard program for quality HSE training and knowledge retention of those contractor personnel that perform work on operator property.
OSHA COMPLIANCE & SAFETY TRAINING
The Occupational Health and Safety Standards courses cover permissible exposure limits, OSHA health standards, regulations and procedures, respiratory protection, engineering controls, hazard communication, sampling instrumentation, workplace health program, and other industrial hygiene topics.
